How to sell your N-numbered PPC

So you have a buyer that wants to buy your N numbered PPC. Two forms will be needed: 8050-1 and 8050-2. 8050-1 is the same form used to initially register a craft. It's a three part form, not downloadable. Write or call and we'll send you one. 8050-2 is a FAA bill of sale. Click here.

Seller:

1. Take out your registration (hard card) from the aircraft. It doesn't go with the aircraft. (However, the Airworthiness Certificate and the Operating Limitations and the Weight and Loading stay with the aircraft).

2. Fill out the back of your hard card.... it reads:

Check block a. and block f. Fill in the buyer's name and address. Sign and date.

3. Send it in to registry with in 60 days.

4. Sign the 8050-2 (bill of sale) and give it to the buyer.

BUYER (New owner):

1. Fill out the Bill of Sale form 8050-2 that the seller has signed.

2. Fill out form 8050-1 which is the registration form (not available on the internet - write or call us for the three part form) to get the PPC registered in your name. Don't forget to print and sign your name. Include $5.

3. The pink copy of the 8050-1 works as the temporary registration until the new hard card comes back from the FAA. It's good for 90 days.

4. Forget about the paperwork and go fly!
