Sport Pilot Information

The FAA has specific requirements to obtain a certificate to fly a Light Sport Aircraft. The requirements can seem daunting, but they're not that bad. We'll make sure you understand them. We can take you through the entire process, from your first flight through the check ride, in your aircraft or ours. We train in powered parachutes and weight shift control. CFIs and DPEs and a DAR on staff can assist your every need.
The good news is that no medical is needed - only a valid US drivers license.

Contact us for specifics requirements of flight time, but here's the big picture:
Powered parachutes require 12 hours (10 hours dual flight training and 2 hours solo) of flight time before taking the check ride.
Powered weight shift requires 20 hours (15 hours of dual flight training and 5 hours solo) of flight time before taking the check ride.
Also required is a written Sport Pilot knowledge test (taken at a FAA testing center - either www.Lasergrade.com or www.catstest.com). Then, it's time to take the check ride!
Once you've passed the check ride, you're qualified to fly a Light Sport Aircraft in whatever category and class you're endorsed in - powered parachute or weight shift control (trike). You can take a passenger and fly for fun and recreation.
